Saturday Morning

So it’s Saturday morning. I expected to need my alarm to wake me from the bowels of sleep. I’ve been running about an hour and a half short on sleep every night this week. Instead of my 7-7.5, I’ve been getting 6. By Friday night, I’m usually pretty tired and enjoy the opportunity to sleep in on Saturday. Not that I sleep in all that late, but 9:30 is a pretty good number. Much better than 7:00. So imagine my surprise when my eyes popped open at 8:15. ugh. and then Colby jumped on me, I was too hot, the fan is too loud, the sun is too bright well crap I’m now awake. yep. Hit the button on the coffee machine. So sad. Todd set the timer for 9:30 since that’s when I usually get out of bed on the weekend. I say sad, because he did a sweet thing for me and I still had to hit the button. So, Shadow is outside, lounging in the morning sun on the porch, Hubby is cutting zzz’s with the fan running and Colby is sitting in the front window that Todd opened last night. He’s fascinated by the fact he can sit in the window and he’s just SOOO HIGH UP!!!! Lol. He turns 2 next weekend. We’ve had him since he was 3 months and this is the first time we’ve opened that particular window since he’s been with us. 🙂 It’s the window that we usually have the air conditioner vent in so kitties don’t get to check the one out much. Well, It’s morning & we have lots to do this weekend. Enjoy!

Tuesday. May 5th.

So we finally are getting into consistently warmer temps here. But today we have a little storm running thru the area. More like crawling. It’s taking several hours to pass thru the area, but hopefully, it will help the flowers be beautiful! 🙂 My tulips are just opening today. The red ones are very bright. I’m very pleased to see them this year. They are lovely. Shadow, the older cat, has decided to make sure the side door and the back door both open from either side. Yes, it’s that time of year again. Open the door, close the door, go to the other door, open the door, let the cat back in. He has a snack. Goes to the door he just came in. open the door, close the door. He then walks around to the side door and sleeps in the sun on the porch for a couple of hours and comes back in thru that door. He has a snack. Then he wants to go back outside again. Naturally. LOL! Damned cat. 🙂 At least Colby is an indoor cat. None of this door business with him… unless you are in the bathroom. Then he just slides the pocket door and let’s himself in. <sigh> Anyways. Is it totally wrong to want to eat chinese food on cinco de mayo? hmmm… I’ll have to think on this.

testing testing…

I’m considering the idea of using this as a place to write/edit some fiction that’s been rolling in my head. I have disconnected my fb page as I do NOT want this going to everyone there…. Thoughts & ideas??? let me know. 🙂 Thanks

hahaha!

Best. Expression. Ever. My older cat came over to where I am at. He knows in the morning that I may share a little melted butter on my finger for him. Today’s breakfast is a banana. Yep. He sat down, with his chest puffed out and gave me that little “beggar’s blink” that he does. So I smeared some banana on my finger and offered it to him. His nose started wiggling away, his eyes suddenly slanted half shut & his ears tipped back. He pulls back from the banana and gives me the “are you f-ing kidding me?” look, gets up and walks away. I found it really funny. Maybe because I’m still half asleep since it’s 4:30 & I need more coffee, but yep. FUNNY!!! ha! It was just easier to pull the banana off of the bunch on the counter than it was to fight with the bread bag to make toast. 🙂 I hope you find something to bring some humor into your morning. After all, it’s Friday!

Tuesdays are equally useless

So, I think Tuesdays are equally as useless as Thursdays. Except maybe a little worse. They are the day after you’ve returned from the weekend. You’ve already caught up on the watercooler gossip. It’s not hump day yet. It’s just there. We’ve finally moved into decent weather. We have very bright sunshine. I’m really glad I bought a new pair of sunglasses about a month ago. Tomorrow is my last early morning project for a while. Except it’s looking like I’ll need to reload some servers so might have to schedule them EARLY. Today, I head north to prep for tomorrow’s early morning. Should prove entertaining. I keep forgetting to clean our litterbox. I think my older cat is mad about it. He ripped off his collar last night. He only does that when he’s mad at us. It’s kind of cute kitty language. “I cannot tolerate being here anymore! <rips off collar> You will not repress me, HUMAN!” at about 3am. We’re sleeping. Like we have ANY idea what the cat’s issue is. So I’ll give it a little longer, then put the collar back on him. He’ll blink at me a few times, wag the tip of his tail, purr loudly with volume increasing as the collar goes around his neck. He’ll stretch his throat out and once it’s on, he’ll rub my legs a couple of times as if saying “I’m sorry mom. I love my collar & being here.” LOL!! I think I just need to drink my coffee. Have a great day!

Thursdays are useless days.

Thursdays should be banned along with Mondays. Thursdays are the day before the day before the weekend. It’s obnoxious. Especially when you are looking forward to the weekend to catch up on a sleep shortage from the week. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, I had to be awake 2 hours prior to my normal alarm. But I didn’t get to be 2 hours before my normal bed time so today, I’m just overtired again. I am most definitely a “7-8 hours of sleep needed nightly” kind of gal. This 5 hour bullshit is for the birds. So I’ll drink my coffee, get ready for work and go tackle my “early morning project” so I can move on to other things like returning things for repair. At least I get done early because I start early. Unfortunately, that time frame is usually about when I’m hitting my stride. Guess we’ll see what today brings. Yesterday brought good news. 🙂 I hope things are finally on the upswing. I’m thinking I might actually take a nap this afternoon. Maybe. just for an hour. perhaps.

I seeeeeeeeeee you.

Have I mentioned how much I hate early morning?? Not enough sleep last night. Everything hurts this morning. Almost no headache though so I guess I’ll soldier thru the body agony. “What doesn’t kill you…” yeah, so I really have a crazy urge to watch “The Sixth Sense” again. 🙂 I enjoy that movie, but we don’t own a copy of it. Might have to go rent it. Let’s not get into the “why don’t you stream it?” business again. Okay? Just don’t. Only working until 2:30 today due to early forays in the field. 😉 See ya then!

Tuesday

So, the weekend was crazy busy due to Easter. Which is fine. It was expected. I’m exhausted, which is not unexpected. Lol! Yes, I was also hoping to have caught up on some sleep. This has not happened. However, since I have to begin work at 3am on Thursday, it should be easier to fall asleep Wed nite. I hope. Well, today is starting out dreary & overcast. The sky is gray, as are the trees. Except for the evergreens which are a funny looking gray-green color and the mud. The mud is, of course, the consistency of mud and is brown. Such dreary colors. BUT my strawberry yogurt is a lovely pink and the banana is a nice yellow so maybe things are looking up. Have some coffee and smile at a stranger. You just might make their day.

Good Friday.

So, I was raised Roman Catholic. I had to work today. I feel guilty. However, I’ll be spending all weekend with family and friends. No “Hollow chocolate rabbit jello shots” or anything like that. I have to make macaroni salad. 2 kinds. 1 with and 1 without tuna in it. I am planning a very carefully orchestrated weekend. I hope your weekend goes without a hitch!!

Happy Easter!

9 pounds

Woke up around 4 a.m. this morning. Sleeping on my stomach, face in my pillow & cat centered perfectly between my shoulder blades. That little 9 pound ball of fluff has never felt so heavy. Ever. Finally get him to jump down and went back to sleep, thankful that it wasn’t the 12 pound cat. Woke again to my alarm clock and the sound of a cat’s bell flying across the house, up the stairs and landing on me. Again. He does his prancing about, shoving his little head under my hand for scratching between the ears. Holy moly, I wish I was as awake as Colby is in the morning. Finally staggered downstairs, consumed my coffee and bore a slight resemblence to the energy output of my cat. That little creature makes me shake my head in amusement on a daily basis. I’m really glad we found him.
